DISTRIBUTION/RETAIL MARKETS
Today, we have six distinct product lines for the professional automotive installer and the do-it-yourselfer: Engine Products, Powertrain Products, Transmission Parts, Engine and Transmission Mounts, Harmonic Balancers and Clutch Kits, covers, and discs. These products go to market through the aftermarket distribution system of leading warehouse-distributors, programmed distribution groups and automotive retailing chains.

Engine - The engine line parallels the product offerings to the engine remanufacturing market. For the engine repair shop customer, parts are packed in boxes, either as individual parts or in kits. For retail environment and the do-it-yourself customer, products such as expansion plugs and fasteners are carded and shrink-wrapped for rack or wall display.

Powertrain - Perhaps the fastest growing portion of Pioneer's replacement parts line is Powertrain components. These include starter ring gears, flywheels (for automatic and manual transmissions), clutch forks, and clutch installation tools.
It also has a comprehensive line of controller cables for engine and drivetrain control and actuation. These include throttle, automatic and manual transmission shift control, emergency brake, detent (passing gear), clutch, speedometer cables, plus chassis grounding cables and tailgate support cables for pickup trucks and Sport Utility Vehicles.

Transmission Parts - We offer a complete line of automatic transmission service parts (individual parts and service kits) for domestic and popular import applications from A to Z (Allison to ZF). Included in the transmission parts line are: Filter Kits, Gasket Kits, Overhaul Kits, Banner Kits, Master Kits, Super Kits, paper gaskets, rubber pan gaskets, rubber o-rings, rubber and metal-clad seals, sealing rings, filters, friction clutches, steel clutch plates, bands, modulators, bushings and sprags.

A key component to the transmission service parts line is our Solution3 pan gaskets, with the Bolt-Grabber feature. The unique Bolt-Grabber design and the Solution3 gasket's remarkable lie-flat memory means the gasket installs easier and faster than any other trans-pan gasket. The undersized holes grab and hold the bolts, which means every bolt properly aligns the gasket for easy installation. The lie-flat memory assures a proper mating to the transmission's pan flange - no leaks, no wicking.

Engine & Transmission Mounts - Our latest product line! We offer over 925 part numbers for domestic and import cars and light trucks covering the following areas: engine (solid and hydraulic), transmission, body/chassis, torque strut, driveshaft and suspension strut.

Many failures (to say nothing of deterioration) of the engine, transmission and even the chassis mounts go undiagnosed and consequently are not repaired. If these problems aren't addressed, the results can range from annoying noises to binding and ultimately, destruction of components.

With the broadest coverage of these mounts in the market, we assure you of the right mount for the job, when you need it! Every time an engine or a transmission is removed and reinstalled, new Pioneer mounts should be a part of the installation process.

Harmonic Balancers - Replacement "harmonic balancers" are quickly becoming a hot item for today's car owners. The reason is "Harmonic Vibrations" which can lead to a variety of mechanical failures.

"Harmonic vibrations" are specific and repeated vibration patterns which pass through an object. In today's cars, such vibrations result from the combustion of the air-fuel mixture. Each time a cylinder fires, the connecting rod pounds the crankshaft journal as the force turns the crankshaft, causing energy to be dispersed throughout the engine. Multiply this by the number of cylinders (with variations in engine speed) and you have what is commonly called harmonic vibrations.

Some of the warning signs of harmonic balancer failure in a vehicle are:

  • A leaking front main seal
  • Visible deterioration of the rubber between the balancer hub and outer ring.
  • Visible cracking or warping of the balancer hub or outer ring.
  • Excessive engine vibration.
  • Slipping, squealing drive belts, belt damage, accelerated belt wear or frequent belt replacement.
  • A highly polished spot on pulley grooves (warped balancer).
  • Elongation of the balancer keyway or wear on the balancer hub/crankshaft.
  • Alternator, power steering pump, air conditioner or water pump failure.
  • Engines that do not run properly when adjusting the timing, or poor performance and irregular idle.
Pioneer offers over 100 different part numbers in 4 different styles. (OE replacement, heavy duty, street level performance and SFI racing balancers). Call Pioneer's customer service department for information or a location to purchase product - 800-231-2302.
